How I work.

Every publication begins with listening.

I’m Kaitlyn Krahn, a Western Canadian ghostwriter and researcher. I ghostwrite and design for founders in service of sustainable craftsmanship.

That means learning how you think, the language of your field, and what your audience needs to know. From there, research provides the foundation, and the ghostwriting and design are shaped to sound and look unmistakably like you.

Field study

A naturalist’s way of seeing.

Before I became a ghostwriter, I learned to pay attention.

Growing up in Okanagan wine country, harvesting Riesling and Chardonnay at Thanksgiving taught me that a harvest is decided long before the fruit is picked. That on-the-ground education in wine and viticulture continued more formally through the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines & Spirits.

Beyond the vineyards, the forests and lakes offered another kind of education in the living world. My grandparents ran Beaver Lake Resort, a fishing lodge where I developed a deep appreciation for the natural world and an entrepreneurial spirit.

My naturalist way of seeing became a way of working.

I’ve worked on biodynamic vineyards and lived and worked at a regenerative design and botanical studies centre in Costa Rica and on an agroforestry research farm in Belize. Each place taught me the same lesson: technology can sharpen perception, but it cannot substitute for experience.

Travels through Scotland, England, the United States, Thailand, Cambodia, India, Mexico, and Central America taught me to observe with intention: to notice structure, pattern, and meaning, and to let the words follow. That same practice now shapes the publications I write.
